Amman, Energy Innovation Days

In the framework of the Euromed project MARE, Energy Innovation Days were organized in 1-2 February 2016 in Amman, Jordan, providing a chance for innovators, entrepreneurs and researchers in Renewable Energy and Energy E­fficiency to meet, network and identify partnerships.

During the event, the first day an Innovation, Commercialization and IP Training Workshop was held, where trends and opportunities were presented along with an introduction to intellectual property rights. Mr. Yiannis Geragotellis on behalf of KiNNO, made a presentation about “Skills and Tools for the Challenging Journey from Research & Innovation to Market”.

The second day the event focused on “Cooperation Between EU and Mediterranean Partner Countries in the Energy Sector: Challenges and Opportunities”, during which Ms. Efi Bakogianni made the presentation for KiNNO about “Accelerating the Deployment of Energy Innovations to the Market”. The last part of the second day, a Business to Business Matchmaking Session took place, where KiNNO participated as a consultant to provide services and resources to enhance technology based innovations.

MARE (Mediterranean Activities for Research and Innovation in the Energy Sector) is a EUROMED project supported by the European Commission under the Seventh Framework Programme. This Project aims to bridge the gap between research and innovation in the EUROMED area in the technological pillars of:

  • Renewable energy microgrids
  • Renewable energy desalination
  • Energy efficiency in buildings
