MARE – Mediterranean Activities for Research and Innovation in the Energy sector

The project brings together stakeholders from the entire innovation value chain—including Research and Technology Organizations (RTOs), intermediaries, business parks, clusters, and SMEs—to foster collaboration and bridge the gap between research and innovation within the EUROMED region. The focus is on three technology pillars: Renewable Energy Systems (RES) Microgrids, RES Desalination, and energy-efficient interventions in buildings. MARE conducts a range of activities designed to assist in the market uptake of research results, improve competencies, and encourage mutual learning between organizations in the EU and the Mediterranean Partner Countries (MPC). Additionally, the project aims to identify potential fields for Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) cooperation between EU Member States and MPC countries, particularly within the context of Horizon 2020 and other bi-regional programs.
