This project aims to develop an innovative system using fluidized bed gasification to enhance energy recovery from organic residues produced by anaerobic digestion (AD) plants. The system will convert the solid fraction of digested residues into syngas (fuel gas), reducing operating costs and improving the overall performance of AD facilities. Building on a decade of research at the Laboratory of Applied Thermodynamics at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), the project seeks to pioneer a more efficient and sustainable method for managing and utilizing waste from AD processes. Additionally, it focuses on advancing the technology’s readiness level (TRL), scaling up, and commercializing the system for broader industrial use.
