This project addresses the persistent challenge of overtourism in the Mediterranean region by promoting conscious and sustainable tourism. It leverages innovative technologies to monitor and manage tourist flows, building on the foundations of the HERIT-DATA project. TOURISMO enhances capacity building and technology transfer among stakeholders, including public authorities, tourist agencies, and SMEs. The project develops a monitoring and decision-making support structure, tested in eight MED pilot sites, using data from various sources and on-site technologies. The University of Florence manages the enriched HERIT-DATA platform. The partnership includes diverse location profiles from seven European countries, ensuring a high degree of innovation and effective solutions for different environments.
